Platt College: Why Pharmacy Tech?

We’ve decided to post a couple of videos to show what makes Platt College’s Pharmacy Tech program great. Here’s the first one, discussing the hands-on experience Platt College Pharmacy Tech students get:

We don’t just prepare students to take a test – the lab work and mock pharmacy offered by our program allows students to get familiar with the way actual pharmacies work. Toward the end of the program, students participate in externships, where they get to take their skills into the field. Between the supervision of their instructors and other experienced professionals, our graduates are fully prepared to take the dive into a career in pharmacy tech.

Pharmacy tech students have several reasons for going into our program – some want to support their families, while others are simply curious about the profession.

No matter the reasoning, we’ll welcome you with open arms and do our best to make sure your experience is not only educational, but enriching as well.

There is ever-increasing demand for trained technicians in various types of practice settings such as hospital, home health, hospice, long-term care, retail, specialty, nuclear, and compounding pharmacies. Want to work in an exciting field filled with opportunities? Call and ask about our Pharmacy Tech program today!

Platt College: Why Culinary Arts?

Passionate about cooking? Think you want to build a career from it? It’s possible, you know – especially when you enroll in the Culinary or Pastry Arts Programs at Platt College.

Some people are just born to make great food – whether it begins with the smell of a loved one’s special recipe, or even through each delectable bite of your favorite dish from a restaurant you love to visit. For others, it’s all about reaping the rewards of the hard work and time spent making a fresh, home-cooked meal… or even the look on a friend’s face as they take that first savory bite. Sometimes the only “thank you” needed is for someone to try the dish you put so much effort into and say, “Wow, that’s delicious!”

Do any of those descriptions sound like you? If you said yes, you’ve come to the right place. Depending on the campus, Platt College offers programs in Pastry Arts, an Associate’s of Science in Culinary Arts, and even a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management. With a combination of theory and practical instruction, graduates of these programs will be armed with not only the knowledge to succeed, but hands-on experience to boot. Did we forget to mention graduate placement assistance?

If you love to cook and want to refine your skills, give us a call – we can set you up with details about the programs that interest you, and even a tour!
